Musical Notes

April 7, 2015 by FCCH Staff

As I write this we are busy preparing for Easter, and the budget was done this Sunday (preliminary meeting), and I’ve been doing performances of Irish music with the Victrola chorus.

The last week of March I had rehearsals with the instrumentalists for Easter. I know everyone will like the music we are doing for Maundy Thursday and Easter. One of the composers is Keith Getty, a composer with an Irish background, who works as a team with his wife. Very nice music that is very popular in many churches.

I’m glad to have Paula Miller and Jo Anne Caputo who will be playing cello and violin again for us.

Joyce Messinger is back again with us. I feel very happy with our choir and their abilities. And Tom’s voice adds so much. We miss Dave Roberts. Ken Landall will be back again soon. And we hope we’ll see Marcia Witherell soon, too. Dave Olson is away. Adelle Babin and Nancy Segall too, and they’ll all be coming back soon.

It will be good to have some warm weather, won’t it?

Thanks for all your support of the music program in our church. I feel happy here.

My women’s chorus (the Harwich Women’s Chorus) will have a concert here at the church on Sunday May 31, at 4:00 PM. We will sing lots of styles, pop and jazz and country, including Route 66, and At Last, and I Fall to Pieces, and one of my favorites, Ghost Riders in the Sky. The chorus is about 15 singers.
