Face Masks Available from First Church

January 19, 2022 by FCCH Staff

Masking is a critical public health tool for preventing spread of Covid-19, and it is important to remember that any mask is better than no mask.

However, the CDC updated its guidelines on January 14th. Now saying that people may choose to wear N95 and KN95 masks because they offer the best protection against Covid-19.

Also, disposable surgical masks (like the blue masks) are next on the list, however the CDC advises making sure they fit properly.

“Loosely woven cloth masks provide the least protection,” the CDC said. Cloth masks should include multiple layers of tightly woven fabric. The fabric should block light when held up to a bright light source.

First Church currently has a supply of N95 and blue surgical masks and is making them available to anyone who wants them. Please contact your Deacon or pick one up at worship on Sunday mornings.
