The Bell

Here’s a very nice article by Alan Pollock, of the Cape Cod Chronicle – Historic Church Bell Coming Down To Earth.

The bell, which has a fascinating history of its own, is now being displayed on the church lawn. Removing the bell has allowed crews to replace the leaky belfry floor; which during storms, let rain down inside the lower levels of the bell tower and was being caught by buckets before it could reach the parishioners below. This had made for a cleaner/dryer belfry and sanctuary.
